As the founder of Pigeon Solar Panels, I’ve spent over 10 years cleaning and protecting solar panels, and our team now looks after homes across Oldham and the surrounding area.
We clean with pure water rather than harsh chemicals, which can damage panels and void your warranty, and we can pest proof your solar panel array so pigeons can’t nest underneath and damage the panels or cables.
Oldham is one of the higher towns in Greater Manchester, so it gets extra rain and wind, and the town’s long rows of terraces make pigeon problems spread from roof to roof. Out in Saddleworth, stone cottages add moss and lichen to the mix.
We clean with deionised water, clear nests and droppings, and fit mesh proofing around the array. Our rope-access team deals with steep hillside roofs without scaffolding.
Areas we cover near Oldham: Chadderton, Royton, Shaw, Failsworth, Lees, Saddleworth.

It’s recommended to have your solar panels professionally cleaned at least twice a year to maintain optimal performance and extend their lifespan.
Bird proofing prevents pigeons and other birds from nesting under your solar panels, which can cause damage to the panels and cables, leading to potential system failures and costly repairs.

Terraces share continuous rooflines, so once one array has a nest, birds soon move to the next. Proofing your panels breaks that chain for your home.
