Solar Panel Cleaning & Bird Proofing Manchester

Your best choice for solar panel cleaning & bird proofing in Manchester and the surrounding areas.

Meet Callun Purnell

Solar Technician for over 10 years

As the Founder of Pigeon Solar Panels, I bring over 10 years of industry experience. Along with our dedicated North West team, we provide top-tier solar panel cleaning and maintenance across Manchester, Stockport, Salford, and the surrounding boroughs.

We pride ourselves on doing things the right way—using pure deionised water and avoiding harsh chemicals to ensure your solar panels operate efficiently without voiding your warranty.

Solar Panel Care in Manchester

City terraces, suburbs and apartment roofs across Manchester

Manchester has one of the largest urban pigeon populations in the North West, and the city’s terraces and semis give them plenty of warm, sheltered gaps under solar arrays. Traffic grime and frequent rain also leave a film on the glass that cuts your output.

We clean with deionised water and fit pigeon mesh or SolaSkirt so birds can’t nest under your panels. Our rope-access team handles terraces, semis and larger roofs without scaffolding.

Areas we cover near Manchester: Didsbury, Chorlton, Withington, Levenshulme, Prestwich, Stretford.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After having a solar array fitted in November I noticed almost immediately that pigeons were nesting underneath.
There are quite a few companies that fit bird skirts.
I came across Pigeon Solar Panels Ltd who specialise in bird skirting. Their website was the easiest to follow and had exactly what I was looking for.
After speaking with Marcella who was very knowledgeable on the whole subject, the price was set and that’s what I paid. No hidden extra payments.

The chaps that fitted the skirt were very chatty and you could tell they were genuinely interested in what they did.
Skirt fitted
Gutters cleared
Panels cleaned
Waste removed
And all guaranteed
I paid far less than some of the quotes I had and what an awesome job they did. The only downside was their popularity as I had to wait a month as they were so busy.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Outstanding service from initial enquiry through to on-site completion of the job. Advised and shown exactly what work was required with extensive photos before and after, went above and beyond by fixing a broken tile and trying to address some shoddy and poorly fitted guttering. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending this company and their excellent service.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We received an excellent service from beginning to end. Marcella provided us with all the information we needed prior to booking the "better than new" package and on the day Callum and Harry told us exactly how the job would proceed covering everything from Health & Saftey through to the photographs we would receive at the end. And the best thing was that the solar panels ended up looking better than new, so we got what we paid for. Thank you from a very happy customer.

Why Manchester Homes Need Regular Solar Panel Cleaning?

With Manchester's mix of frequent rain, urban traffic pollution, and industrial dust, solar panels in the North West get dirty quickly. While the rain washes away loose dust, it often leaves behind a murky residue that bakes onto the glass when the sun comes out. Combined with bird guano and algae build-up, this can reduce your solar efficiency by up to 25%. Our professional pure-water cleaning system cuts through the urban grime, restoring your panels to maximum energy absorption.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have my solar panels cleaned?

It’s recommended to have your solar panels professionally cleaned at least twice a year to maintain optimal performance and extend their lifespan.

Why is bird proofing necessary for solar panels?

Bird proofing prevents pigeons and other birds from nesting under your solar panels, which can cause damage to the panels and cables, leading to potential system failures and costly repairs.

Do you offer services in areas around Manchester?

Yes, we proudly serve Manchester and surrounding areas, including Oldham, Salford, Stockport, Rochdale, Bury, Trafford, Ashton-under-Lyne, Wythenshawe, Didsbury, Sale, Wilmslow, and Altrincham, providing top-quality solar panel cleaning, maintenance, and bird proofing services tailored to local conditions.

How do I stop pigeons nesting under my solar panels in Manchester?

The best fix is to seal the gap between the panels and the roof with mesh or SolaSkirt once the nests have been cleared. That keeps pigeons out for good without harming them.

Which Manchester areas do you cover?

All of Manchester and the surrounding boroughs, including Didsbury, Chorlton, Withington, Levenshulme, Prestwich and Stretford.
