As the Founder of Pigeon Solar Panels, I bring over 10 years of industry experience. Along with our dedicated North West team, we provide solar panel cleaning, bird proofing and maintenance across the towns of Greater Manchester.
We pride ourselves on doing things the right way—using pure deionised water and avoiding harsh chemicals to ensure your solar panels operate efficiently without voiding your warranty.
This page covers Bury, Middleton, Ashton-under-Lyne, Leigh, Walkden and Worsley. For the rest of the region, see all North West areas.
Bury’s terraces and suburban semis see plenty of pigeons around the town centre and market. We clear nests, clean the panels and fit mesh proofing, with a 10-year warranty.
Further north, see our Ramsbottom coverage.
Middleton and Heywood sit between Manchester and Rochdale, with a mix of estates and older terraces. We reach most roofs without scaffolding and proof panels in a single visit.
Nearby: solar panel cleaning in Rochdale and Oldham.
Across Tameside, from Ashton to Stalybridge, pigeons nest under panels on terraced and semi-detached roofs alike. We clean with deionised water and seal the gap so they can’t get back underneath.
Leigh, Atherton and Tyldesley have a mix of older terraces and newer estates, and pigeons find a fresh array fast. Proofing early saves blocked gutters and damaged cables.
Nearby: solar panel cleaning in Wigan.
Walkden and Little Hulton homes get the same pigeon problems as the rest of Salford. We clear nesting material, clean the panels and fit mesh, Bird Blocker or SolaSkirt proofing.

Worsley’s larger homes along the Bridgewater Canal often have big arrays on steep roofs. Rope access keeps the job quick and scaffolding-free, and our low-profile proofing keeps the house looking tidy.

Trouble with birds getting in places they shouldn’t? We can attach bird proofing strips as an addon to our packages.
With frequent rain, urban traffic pollution and pigeons in every town centre, solar panels across Greater Manchester get dirty quickly and make ideal nesting spots. Regular cleaning and proper bird proofing keep your system producing what it should.
Bury, Middleton, Ashton and Leigh all have busy pigeon populations. We clear nests and seal the gap for good.
Nesting birds can peck at cable insulation. We check the wiring whenever we clear a nest.
Nest debris ends up in gutters and downpipes. We clear them as part of our Gutter Declutter and Better Than New packages.
Our IRATA-qualified team works on ropes, keeping cleaning and proofing affordable on terraces and semis.
Manchester rain doesn't shift droppings. A soft-brush, deionised-water clean does.
We can schedule work so it doesn't get in the way, including evenings and weekends.
The gap between the panels and the roof is dry, sheltered and warm, and predators can't reach it. Once a pair settles, they return every year unless the gap is sealed.
Yes. Nesting birds can peck and damage cable insulation, and nest debris collects around connectors. We check the cabling when we clear nests.
Most homes come in between £600 and £800, depending on the number of panels, the roof and the proofing system you choose. We give a fixed price before we start.
