As the Founder of Pigeon Solar Panels, I bring over 10 years of industry experience. Along with our dedicated North West team, we provide solar panel cleaning, bird proofing and maintenance across Cheshire, Merseyside and West Lancashire.
We pride ourselves on doing things the right way—using pure deionised water and avoiding harsh chemicals to ensure your solar panels operate efficiently without voiding your warranty.
This page covers Wilmslow, Runcorn & Halton, Southport and Ormskirk. For the rest of the region, see all North West areas.
Wilmslow and Alderley Edge have many large detached homes with big arrays on complex roofs. We reach them on ropes without scaffolding and fit neat, low-profile proofing like SolaSkirt that suits the house.
Nearby: solar panel cleaning in Macclesfield.
Across Halton, from Runcorn’s estates to Sandymoor’s new builds, pigeons quickly find the gap under newly fitted panels. We clean, remove nests and seal the edge with mesh proofing.
Across the river: solar panel cleaning in Widnes.
Southport’s coastal homes, from Birkdale to Ainsdale, pick up salt and sand on their panels as well as bird droppings. We clean with deionised water and fit proofing that stands up to coastal weather.
Ormskirk and the West Lancashire villages include plenty of farmhouses and rural homes with larger arrays. We clean and proof domestic systems, and take on farm roofs through our commercial solar cleaning service.

Trouble with birds getting in places they shouldn’t? We can attach bird proofing strips as an addon to our packages.
Coastal salt on the Sefton coast, farm dust in West Lancashire and pigeons everywhere else all cut the output of solar panels. Regular cleaning and proper bird proofing keep your system producing what it should.
Panels near the Sefton coast pick up salt and sand. A deionised-water clean gets them back to full output.
Wilmslow and Alderley Edge homes often have large systems on complex roofs. Rope access handles them without scaffolding.
Pigeons find new arrays in Runcorn and Sandymoor quickly. Proofing early saves the mess.
Around Ormskirk we clean and proof arrays on farmhouses and outbuildings.
Low-profile options like SolaSkirt and black PVC mesh keep the house looking neat.
Every bird proofing installation comes with our 10-year warranty.
